The University of Macau (UM) launched a three-day Integrated Circuits (IC) design summer camp at the Institute of Microelectronics (IME) for 40 local high school students from different schools on 19th July. This IC design summer camp is one of those in the FST summer camps series that includes 9 different summer camps. It provides an excellent opportunity for the students to explore and experience different aspects of engineering and technology. The goal is to provide the students with an engaging and interactive learning experience that will inspire them to pursue careers in engineering and technology, especially in the IC design area.
The summer camp commenced on the morning of 19th July, where Prof. Rui Martins, Director of IME, welcomed all participants and delivered a speech. The summer camp includes a variety of activities, such as visiting the State-Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-signal VLSI, going through the IC design process, attending lectures, having practical experiment sessions to measure the electronic circuits, and joining the campus tour. The students also had the opportunity to interact with UM faculty members and researchers, who shared their knowledge and expertise with the young participants.
The summer camp is made possible by the support of FST and IME under UM, and the dedicated efforts of the faculty members, researchers, and staff. UM remains committed to promoting academic excellence and inspiring future generations of scholars and innovators.
