The “2025 DSA International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition,” jointly organized by the RDSA Industry Alliance and the Macao Institute of Industrial Technology, was held on 26 November 2025. After a global call for submissions, the top 20 teams participated in a full day of presentations and Q&A. The competition awarded one first prize, which was won by the team “AI Memory Universe (AIMOU),” composed of Postdoctoral Fellow Yi Zhan, Assistant Professor Wei-Han Yu, and SKL-AMSV Director Pui-In Mak.

DSA (Domain-Specific Architecture) is a method designed for open-source architectures that enables efficient computing power applications and has become one of the mainstream development directions in computer architecture. RISC-V, currently the fastest-growing open instruction set architecture, can define DSAs for specific needs. To stimulate innovation in the semiconductor industry in this area, the inaugural DSA International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition seeks to uncover breakthrough technologies, algorithms, architectures, or applications.

Dr. Chio Fai Aglaia Kong, Vice President of the RDSA Industry Alliance and representative of the organizers, stated that the “DSA International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition” is an important initiative to promote ecosystem development. The goal is to inspire global semiconductor industry innovation in the DSA domain, jointly improve DSA efficiency, scalability, and security, and help the DSA ecosystem thrive and achieve industrial implementation.

Mr. Yun-Wah Yau, Director of Macao’s Economic and Technological Development Bureau, said that Macao is accelerating efforts in research platforms, funding support, and service systems. By building high-end R&D platforms, improving funding mechanisms, and strengthening entrepreneurial support services, Macao aims to create a key platform that brings together international innovation resources and promotes collaboration among industry, academia, and research. He welcomed outstanding global researchers and entrepreneurial teams to leverage Macao’s international platform to turn innovative ideas into reality.
