The Lecture is:

Power Management Techniques in High-Efficiency Simultaneous Wireless Power and Data Transfer

Abstract:

Implantable medical devices (IMDs) are embedded systems placed inside the body for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. A continuous wireless power supply is required for their operations. Simultaneously, data extraction from IMDs to the outside transmitter (TX) side (backward) and the reverse data transmission (forward) are requested for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, respectively. In this talk, we will present several design examples, including TX power amplifiers, coils, RX rectifiers, simultaneous wireless power and data transfer, and so on.

Biography:

Prof. QIU Hao received B.S. degree in Materials Science and M.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from Nanjing University, China, in 2010 and 2013, respectively, and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Tokyo, Japan, in 2016. He is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Electronic Science and Engineering, Nanjing University. His main research interests include isolated and wireless power converters, gate drivers for wide bandgap power devices, switched-mode power converters, and low-dimensional semiconductor nano-systems.
