The State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI (SKL-AMSV) and Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST/ECE) and had organized several visits to the local secondary schools to strengthen the communication between the University of Macau and local high schools.
Dr. Chan Chi Hang, Dr. Lam Chi Seng and Dr. Pun Sio Hang, Assistant Professors from SKL-AMSV, and Prof. Sin Sai Weng, Associate Professor from (FST/ECE), visited Macau Keang Peng School (Secondary School Section), Hou Kong Middle School, and Tong Sin Tong Secondary School, on 9th November 2016, 9th December 2016, and 16th January 2017, respectively. The goals of the visits are to promote the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and SKL-AMSV, University of Macau (UM) and strengthen the communications to the various local high school students. Dr. Lam, Dr. Pun and Prof. Sin first introduced the development history and achievements of the Department of ECE, and also the ECE bachelor study program, laboratories, facilities and labs, and its distinct characteristics, as well as the career opportunity, etc. In the second part, they introduced the development history, research directions, achievements and new facilities of the SKL-AMSV. They also shared their engineering working and research experiences and also the prospects and opportunities of studying engineering in future. After the presentation, teachers and students are enthusiastic to ask questions about the study requirements of ECE program, engineer registration procedure, career opportunities, requirements to doing research work in SKL-AMSV, etc. Finally, as native Macao-educated scholars, the team encouraged the students to join the industry of scientific innovation if they are interested in science and technology.
