State key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI (AMSV) had invited Prof. Jan Van der Spiegel, University of Pennsylvania, Prof. Tzi-Dar Chiueh, National Taiwan University and Prof. Howard Luong, HKUST, for the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society 2014 Distinguished Lecture Workshop – Macau. The event was held on 17th July 2014 (Thursday).

Prof. Jan Van der Spiegel is a Professor of the Electrical and Systems Engineering Department, and the Director of the Center for Sensor Technologies at the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently the president-elect of the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society.

Prof. Howard Luong is a Professor of the EEE faculty at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, He is an IEEE Fellow and currently serving as an IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society Distinguished Lecturer, an Associate Editor for IEEE Virtual Journal on RFIC, and a technical program committee member of several international conferences, including IEEE Custom Integrated Circuits Conference (CICC) and IEEE Symposium on Radio-Frequency Integration Technology (RFIT).

Prof. Tzi-Dar Chiueh is presently a Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Taiwan University. . Prof. Chiueh is an IEEE Fellow and now serves as the Membership Chair of the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society.

In this workshop, students could learn more about the IEEE SSCS and gain insight into a clear direction on writing ISSCC and JSSCC papers. Their knowledge on wireless ICs was also enhanced.
