Four papers on solid-state circuit chips, which are co-supervised by Prof. Rui Martins, Prof. Ben U Seng Pan, Dr. Terry Sin Sai Weng and Dr. Zhu Yan from the University of Macau (UM) State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI (AMS-VLSI Lab) and Faculty of Science and Technology, and which were previously published in the IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits (IEEE is short for Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), have been selected from more than 3.5 million articles and ranked among the 100 most popular papers in the IEEE Xplore database.

Two of the papers by Dr. Zhu Yan and Dr. Wei Hegong, titled “A 50fJ 10b 160 MS/s Pipelined-SAR ADC with Decoupled Flip-Around MDAC and Self-Embedded Offset Cancellation", and “A 8-bit 400MS/s 2-bit per cycle SAR ADC with Resistive DAC” respectively, have been included in the IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, Volume 47, Issue 11. The third article is by PhD student Wong Si Seng, titled “A 2.3 mW 10-bit 170 MS/s Two-Step Binary-Search Assisted Time-Interleaved SAR ADC”. The fourth article by PhD student Chan Chi Hang, titled “A 5-Bit 1.25-GS/s 4x-Capacitive-Folding Flash ADC in 65-nm CMOS”, has been included in the IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, Volume 48, Issue 9.

What’s noteworthy is that Wong Si Seng’s paper was not only included in the IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, Volume 48, Issue 8, in August 2013, but in the online preview version it was ranked among the three most accessed papers of the month. The top one was from the well-known Prof. Razavi from the University of California, Los Angeles, who is the scientific adviser of the AMS-VLSI Lab.

The IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits is an authoritative international journal in the field of microelectronics. It is Thomas Reuters SCI-indexed, with an Impact Factor of 3.06. It is the most cited journals in the United States as well as the most downloaded IEEE journal. The IEEE Xplore database provides web access to more than 3.5 million full-text documents from some of the world's most highly cited publications in electrical engineering, computer science and electronics. The content in IEEE Xplore comprises over 160 journals, over 1,200 conference proceedings, more than 3,800 technical standards, over 1,000 eBooks, and over 300 educational courses. Approximately 25,000 new documents are added to IEEE Xplore each month.
