LLM-driven Intelligent Agent for PCB Design Automation: From Natural Language to Complete PCB Design
Abstract:
PCB design has long been a time-consuming and labor-intensive process, involving multiple stages such as schematic creation, component placement, layout, and routing. Each step requires extensive manual operations by designers. Even with the assistance of modern EDA tools, these processes still demand significant time and effort. Traditional automation scripts or rule-based design assistants often struggle to flexibly handle complex design intents and dynamic user requirements. With the rapid advancement of large language models (LLMs), a new design paradigm is emerging — enabling full-process PCB design automation through natural language interaction with intelligent agents.
This talk will introduce an intelligent PCB design assistant system that integrates LLMs technology into the complete PCB design automation workflow. Through natural language interaction, the system helps users accomplish the entire design process, including schematic creation, component selection, layout and routing, copper pouring, and manufacturing file generation. And this talk will cover the following key topics: (1) Demonstration of natural-language-driven PCB design automation. (2) System architecture of the PCB design intelligent agent. (3) Future directions for intelligent and AI-assisted PCB design.
