The Lecture is:

The applications of molecular diagnostic in pathogen detection

Abstract:

Molecular diagnosis of the nucleic acid is an essential part of the molecular diagnosis. It tests the sequence of the DNA and RNA gene fragments of the subjects, and diagnoses the diseases based on the test results. Molecular diagnosis runs through the entire disease course of the patient in early prediction, disease diagnosis, efficacy evaluation, and prognosis judgment. Molecular pathogen detection is the discipline that developed first and is relatively mature in the field of molecular diagnosis . Ninety-five percent of the infectious pathogens can be tested by molecular diagnostic techniques of PCR and hybridization techniques. The molecular diagnostic techniques are witnessing a rapid development. The paper intends to report on the application of molecular diagnostic techniques in the detection of pathogens, comprehensively analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of various molecular diagnostic techniques and their significance in the actual clinical testing, and looks to the future directions of the development of molecular diagnostic techniques.

Biography:

In September 2015, Dr. JIANG Xiwen started his career in Da An Gene Co., Ltd. of Sun Yat – Sen University. Currently, Dr. JIANG is the R&D Director of DaAn Gene. His job responsibilities are making the plan for research and development, project application, research cooperation and the strategic planning of development of molecular diagnostics technology and the management of the scientific research daily administrative affairs of DaAn Gene. Scince 2015, He and his team in DaAn Gene have developed several series of molecular diagnosis products, based on qPCR, ARMs-PCR, Digital PCR, the 1st generation sequencing, Biochips, NGS and other molecular techniques.
