The Lecture is:

Smart Design Automation Methods of Microfluidic Biochips for Enabling High-Throughput Biochemical Applications

Abstract:

Microfluidic biochips are emerging as an essential technology in miniaturized platform for detection, manipulation and analysis of biochemical samples, which offer several advantages over traditional laboratory methods by simplifying the laboratory procedures with miniaturized large-scale integration (LSI) systems to manipulate small amounts of fluids (e.g., microliters and nanoliters). Notable advantages of microfluidic biochips include reducing assay cost by reducing sample consumption, reducing human intervention by integrating automatic control system, providing ultra-sensitivity and accuracy, facilitating point-of-care diagnostics, and enabling single-cell capture and analysis. Microfluidic biochips have many promising applications, such as diagnostics and treatment, drug discovery and development, biological research, forensic analysis, agriculture, environmental sensors, food inspection, etc. This talk will introduce the design automation methods for microfluidic large-scale integration, which enable the complex and high-through biochemical applications.
