The University of Macau (UM) Institute of Microelectronics and Zhuhai UM Science & Technology Research Institute (ZUMRI) jointly held a forum for scholars and industry practitioners in microelectronics to discuss the latest developments in the industry. The event also aimed to match companies in Hengqin and Macao with integrated circuit (IC) professionals. Wang Chunming, deputy director of ZUMRI, said that UM and ZUMRI aim to promote the development of the IC industry in the cooperation zone via the microelectronics R&D research centre of the institute. Mak Pui In, deputy director of the Institute of Microelectronics and interim director of UM’s State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI, expressed hope that the event would facilitate exchange and cooperation between companies and UM faculty members and students and would encourage master’s and doctoral degree graduates in microelectronics to work in the Greater Bay Area.
